In 2015, some of the largest school districts in the USA switched from styrofoam lunch trays to compostable plates made from recycled newsprint paper. When these school districts chose recycled paper trays over other forms of compostable material, we asked ourselves, “how do recycled paper trays compare against sugar pulp trays?” To answer the question we decided to judge both trays on their beauty, rim separation, and sogginess.
